England Hockey Championships come to Lincoln
England Hockey Men’s County Championships are taking place on this Saturday and Sunday (10th & 11th May) at The Lindum, our new home of hockey.
Why not come along and see some of the best county teams in England playing first class hockey with the current title holders, Lincolnshire, being on their “home” pitch in their county. The other counties taking part are Durham, Northumberland, Staffordshire (who Lincolnshire beat 3 – 1 in the final last year) and Warwickshire.
There are six current or ex Lincoln Roses Hockey Club’s players involved in the Lincolnshire team, so come along and show your support. Ex England and Great Britain player Glenn Kirkham, who opened the new pitch on 11th April, captains the Lincolnshire team.
Order of play for the two days:
Saturday
10.30 – Lincolnshire v Northumberland
12.15 – Warwickshire v Staffordshire
14.00 – Durham v Lincolnshire
15.45 – Northumberland v Staffordshire
17.30 – Warwickshire v Durham
Sunday
09.00 – Northumberland v Durham
10.45 – Lincolnshire v Staffordshire
12.30 – Warwickshire v Northumberland
14.15 – Staffordshire v Durham
16.00 – Warwickshire v Lincolnshire
This will be a good experience for all of you to see, as Lincolnshire Hockey have progressed from being a Division C county, four tournaments ago, to England Hockey County Champions last year.
Do come along and make this a great occasion for sport on our new home pitch. We were granted this tournament by England hockey in celebration of our new pitch.
