An ongoing run-down of all weather-affected fixtures and sessions this weekend, the 9th and 10th of December

Temperatures this weekend are expected to be even lower than last weekend, which also saw cancellations, to the point where even home games at the Lindum Sports Association and Lincoln University may be called off.

The BBC, on their weather website, are reporting sub zero temperatures tonight in Lincoln and they’re not going to get much higher than two or three degrees centigrade throughout the whole of Saturday. That being said please assume that, if there is no news on here, that everything is going forward as planned on Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t forget that parking for the Christmas Market is available at the Lindum Sports Association.

Saturday Hockey

The Mens 2s game outcome now sees no hockey at all taking place on Saturday at the club. This post will be updated throughout the weekend to cover Sunday’s matches as well.

Junior Training

There were no plans for Junior Training this weekend in any case, due to the Lincoln Christmas Market. Although this isn’t affected by the weather, we’d advise that parents and guardians enjoy their lie-in!

Ladies 1s

The match in Hull at 11:30pm is off due to a frozen pitch.

Ladies 4s

Driffield 3 were due to play the Ladies 4s at the Lindum Sports Association at noon, and is the first home game of the day to be cancelled due to the weather / pitch conditions.

Ladies 5s

The game against Driffield 4, originally scheduled for 11am in Driffield, is now not taking place.

Mens 1s

Neston South Wirral were due to make the journey down to play at the Lindum Sports Association at 1:30pm but the travel, if not the pitch, may well be treacherous and an early call on Friday night had to be made on this fixture.

Mens 2s

The fixture at Boston Spa has been called off; this is the final fixture of the day to be cancelled.

Mens 4s

The game against Chapeltown, away, at 1:30pm is off due to a frozen pitch in Sheffield.

Development Team

The Development Team were due to play Doncaster’s Development Team at 3pm at the Lindum; this fixture has now been cancelled due to the weather.

Games playing at Lincoln University

All home games taking place at the University are now off, as of Saturday morning, due to the safety of the frozen pitch. This includes…

• Ladies 2s v. Kingston Upon Hull (noon)
• Mens 3s v. Wakefield (1:30pm)
• Ladies 3s v. Sheffield Hallam (3pm)

Sunday Hockey

Under 12s

The Under 12s game on Sunday will not be taking place due to the cold weather.

Ladies 2s

The fixture against West Bridgford 2, in the England Hockey Womens Tier 4 Championship, is not taking place due to the University pitch not being playable.

Ladies 4s v. Ladies 5s

This rearranged fixture will need to be re-rearranged as it isn’t taking place at the University pitch.

Mens 2s

The Mens 2s’ Cup Game against Spalding at the Lindum Sports Association is off due to the layer of snow currently settling on the pitch as of Sunday morning.
