It’s great to hear of your interest in Lindum Hockey Club. Below are the most commonly asked questions on how to get involved but if you have any others (any at all) that aren’t listed below then please fill out this form to speak to someone who will (hopefully) be able to answer them!

How Do I Get Involved?

The best way to get involved is to join us at a training session. During the hockey season (September – April usually, but contact us to check) we train on a particular schedule. Please see below for our pre-season and in-season training schedule for 2021-22.

Monday

  • 6:30 to 8:00pm Men’s 5th & 6th XIs

Tuesday

  • 6:30 to 8:00pm Ladies 1st & 2nd XI
  • 8:00 to 9:30pm Men’s 1st & 2nd XI

Wednesday

  • 6:15 to 7:45pm Academy Under 14s (Years 7 to 9)
  • 7:45 to 9:15pm Academy Under 16s/18s

Thursday

  • 6:30 to 8:00pm Ladies 3rd, 4th & 5th XI
  • 8:00 to 9:30pm Men’s 3rd & 4th XI

Saturday

  • 9:30 to 11am Juniors: Under 6s & Under 8s (Reception to Year 3)
  • 10:00 to 11:30am Juniors: Under 10s & Under 12s (Year 4 to Year 7)

Sticks can be borrowed and we recommend the use of shin pads. The club’s insurance policy stipulates that anyone playing on the pitch should wear a mouth guard as well. Hockey is a non-contact sport but, especially during training sessions, hockey balls can be moving at speed all over the pitch and we take player safety very seriously.

How Much Does It Cost to Play?

There are two costs to playing at Lindum Hockey Club; membership and match fees, although match fees are now only applicable to summer hockey.

Membership

  • Senior Gold: £280. Full membership including all matches (league, cup and friendlies)
  • Senior Silver: £250. Full membership including up to 10 matches (league, cup and friendlies)
  • Senior Bronze: £220. Full membership including up to 5 matches (league, cup and friendlies)
  • Student (13+: Year 8 and above; University): £175. Full membership including all matches (league, cup and friendlies)
  • Junior (Under 12: Year 7 and below): £105. Full membership including all matches (league, cup and friendlies)
  • Junior Pay as you Go: £5 per session
  • Social / Non-Playing Member: £30

Membership costs can be paid by debit or credit card, or if you have a direct debit agreement in place, across the season with or without a spend cap. The club can help on an individual basis if costs prove prohibitive to playing; we don’t want money to get in the way of enjoying hockey!

Membership covers all training sessions, membership of the Lindum Sports Association (which includes reduced gym membership), insurance and affiliation with England Hockey and all of the relevant hockey league bodies. Matches covered by membership are outlined in the Membership Options above.

Match Fees

Match Fees for league, cup and friendly hockey are no longer relevant.

Summer hockey match fees are variable and are dependent upon the team that you play for (please note that summer hockey is very popular and you may it find it easier to get into a team by joining the club during the league season first).

How Do I register As a Member?

Once you’ve been down to a training session and got to know us, assuming that you’d like to join us full-time and play more hockey at Lindum Hockey Club, you need to register online. Membership can be paid through this portal as well. You will be invited to register for a MyClub account which will detail your balance, including outstanding fees, deductions and reimbursements.

Registration is to take place by the end of September for any given season, unless you’re new to the club at a different time of the year, while membership fees are due by the end of the season.
