As the weather continues to cause disruption to hockey plans, this post will be continuously updated over the weekend

Following recent cancellations to training sessions this week, further cold temperatures and the threat of more snow falling, the following details are an up-to-date list of changes made to Saturday’s junior training and league matches, and Sunday’s Mixed Game against Long Sutton.

Junior Training

The decision was taken early on Friday morning, citing the pitch likely to still be frozen and temperatures feeling like -5ºC, to call off this Saturday morning’s session.

All Lindum Home Games

All games taking place at the Lindum Sports Association and now the University of Lincoln today are off, as the pitches are frozen and covered in snow. This covers the following teams…

  • Mens 1st Team
  • Mens 4th Tean
  • Ladies 2nd Team
  • Ladies 3rd Team
  • Ladies 5th Team

The Mens 5s’ game (due to be played at the Lindum at 3pm) was called off on Wednesday as Wakefield 5s couldn’t raise a side.

Saturday’s Away Games

The following are Saturday’s away games that have been cancelled…

  • Ladies 1st Team (away to Slazengers, Wakefield)
  • Ladies 4th Team (away to Goole)
  • Mens 2nd Team (away to Huddersfield)
  • Mens 3rd Team (away to Acomb)
  • Development Team (away to Doncaster)

The following are Sunday’s fixtures…

Under 10s

The Under 10s tournament, in Leeds on Sunday, has been cancelled.

Under 12s

With the forecast for more cold weather tomorrow, the organisers of Sunday’s Under 12 competition in Spalding have decided to cancel the event.

Mixed Game

Sunday’s Mixed Team game, in the second tier of the England Hockey Mixed Cup against Long Sutton, is also off.

Tickets are just £16 for the wines, German bread for between wines, German music, a souvenir glass and wine guide. As well as a WHOLE LOT OF FUN!!

Saturday the 16th of February, 2019

  • £16 each with limited numbers
  • Tickets can be paid for over the bar at the Lindum, to Mr Dewhurst or below
  • Only suitable for those over 18
  • Lots of fun, even if you don’t like wine!

We encourage you to bring your own snacks and nibbles for the evening.

Update, February the 13th

Unfortunately we have had to make the decision to postpone this Saturday’s event due to lack of ticket sales.
Sorry to those that have bought tickets, we will be in touch individually to discuss options.
Hopefully we can rearrange it for a date suitable to more people to attend later on in the year!

🏇 Our next event will be the RACE NIGHT on Sat March 16th so get it in your diary and do you best to attend what is always a fun night, a good fundraiser for the club and an opportunity for you to make a little profit yourself too 🏇
