The development of junior hockey players is at the heart of Lindum Hockey Club. Our aim is to provide the opportunity for young people between the ages of 5 yrs and 18 yrs to develop their hockey skills in a fun, safe and exciting environment . Junior members will be coached in the whole range of skills necessary to do their best in competitions.

The club enters boys and girls in regional competitions, and the under 14’s, under 16’s and under 18’s English Hockey National Club Cup. There are also numerous friendly tournaments, festivals and matches from under 9’s to under 18’s for boys, girls and mixed teams; and adult league teams when appropriate. When young players are ready, the club offers a development team that introduces them to league hockey in a supportive environment.

Lindum HC works within the England Hockey development structure with many of our junior players progressing through the hockey structure to represent their age group at county, regional and international level.

Our qualified coaches are trained in child protection and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people. These regular coaches supervise all coaching and are all volunteers who receive no payment for all their time and expertise.

Older juniors are encouraged to gain umpiring and coaching qualifications. They can become involved in the many junior events held at the club as timekeepers, umpires, announcers, stewards and assistant coaches. Several older juniors help regularly at junior sessions attended by younger players.
