Dunham Bridge Flooded – Updated

Traffic News

Due the recent heavy rainfall, the bridge at Dunham on the A57 has been closed now for over a week. As the league season resumes this weekend it is anticipated that players, supporters and opposing teams travelling to or from Lincoln will need to find an alternative route to or from the city.

On the positive side you save yourself 36p per car paying the toll for the bridge. On the negative side the main alternative is via the A1 at Newark using the A46 to get to Yarborough Leisure Centre. Not only will this add to your time and distance, but there have been tailbacks on the A1 recently as a result of the increased traffic levels using this route.

Reports in the local media as recently as today have suggested that the bridge may be open by the weekend, though conflicting reports are also saying it will be early next week. Your best bet is to keep an eye on local media such as Lincs FM’s traffic pages.

EDIT: the latest reports are that the bridge has been reopened, albeit with traffic lights so queues may still be likely.
