Lincoln Hockey Club’s Veterans team are through to the last eight in the country-wide knock-out competition of England Hockey’s Over 50s Cup competition.

Lincoln played host to Khalsa Hockey Club’s Veterans at Yarborough Leisure Centre this afternoon. Despite taking place in miserable weather, the game at least went ahead this time having been postponed twice already due to the snow.

The full time whistle saw a 1-1 result with the home team taking the win by virtue of a 2-1 scoreline from penalty strokes.

[EDIT] The Veterans’ opponents for a place in the last four will not be known until Sunday. West Wilts HC and Marden Russets HC still have their match to play and Lincoln’s Veterans team will play the winner at home (Yarborough LC) on the 24th of February.
