A week last Saturday (yes this is a late review!) saw week two of the 2013 / 2014 league season. Starting with the bad news the Mens 3rd team, eagerly awaiting their first league game, learned that their fixture was called off by Huddersfield; a symptom of playing in Yorkshire’s development league whereby players must, by the league rules, fulfill fixtures higher up the divisions as a priority. The day itself got off to a rocky start at noon with a loss for the Ladies 2s at home. Alford & District were able to put away five goals to Lincoln’s one though captain Caz May remained, unless her text message was coated in sarcasm, full of positivity for a great game. The good news was that the Ladies 1s came back from Lowestoft with a 4-3 win and the Mens 1s duly followed suit half an hour later at home to Huddersfield Dragons 2 with the same scoreline. Meanwhile the Mens 2s only just got to Leeds in time and returned with a goal difference of four in their game against Leeds 6, winning 5-1.

Team Oppostion Location Game Type Result
Ladies 1st Team Lowestoft Ladies 1 Away League Game Won 4 – 3
Ladies 2nd Team Alford & District 1 Home League Game Lost 5 – 1
Mens 1st Team Huddersfield Dragons 2 Home League Game Won 4 – 3
Mens 2nd Team Leeds 6 Away League Game Won 5 – 1
Mens 3rd Team Huddersfield Dragons 7 Home League Game Postponed
