Official Opening of the Lindum Sports Association’s New Pitch

The Official Opening of the Lindum Sports Association’s new artificial grass hockey pitch takes place on Friday the 11th of April. All members of Lincoln Hockey Club are invited to what promises to be an exciting day of events. Lindum Sports AssociationIn attendance, and providing their hockey expertise, will be;

  • Glenn Kirkham (Former Great Britain and England captain with 223 appearances)
  • James Fair (England Keeper for Team Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics)
  • Shona McCallin (Great Britain and England player)

Lindum Pitch Opening Invitation

Lindum Sports request the company of Lincoln Hockey Club at the Formal Opening Ceremony and Celebration of the Artificial Grass Hockey Pitch on Friday the 11th of April 2014 from 3pm ’till late.

 

Programme

The Programme is as follows;

Junior Camp

  • 7 – 16 years 9.00am – 5.00pm
  • 4 – 6 years 1.00pm – 5.00pm
  • Expert coaching from Olympians Glenn Kirkham & James Fair along with current GB & England International Shona McCallin.
  • Camp suitable for Beginners, School & Club players.

Adult Masterclass

  • 6.30pm – 8.30pm
  • Specialised GK training with James Fair
  • Specialised outfield training with Glenn Kirkham & Shona McCallin.

  • Bowling and batting
  • Crazy Catch one minute challenge
  • Open to all
  • Prizes awarded

Official Opening

  • Official Opening by Former GB International Glenn Kirkham at 4pm
  • 4:30pm – 5pm – Hockey Matches from the Junior Camp
  • 4:30pm onwards – Squash sessions for new players, in the courts
  • 4:30m – 6pm – Kwick Cricket Coaching, Under 7s and Under 9s
  • 6pm – 8pm – Cricket Nets training for Under 15s, Under 17s and Seniors
  • 6:30pm – 8:30pm – Masterclass Goalkeeping with James Fair and Outfield Work with Glenn Kirkham
  • From 6pm onwards – Barbeque
  • In the clubhouse – Duplicate Bridge, for beginners and taster sessions
  • From 7:30pm – Disco in the main room, all invited

 

Saturday the 12th of April

On the Saturday of the same weekend there will be further based hockey activities in the form of club games and a county match.

  • 10.30am – Breakfast Barbeque
  • 11am  – Inter-Club Mixed Game 1
  • 1pm  – Lincolnshire Mens’ game
  • 3pm  – Inter Club Mixed Game 2

It has been decided that both Lincoln Hockey clubs will put all names into a hat and draw teams to play in the mixed games throughout the day. It has been asked that both clubs have some volunteers together to ensure the smooth running of the barbecue throughout the day, If anyone would like to volunteer their services then please contact Gary Johnson.

As Gary himself says, “This is a really important event for the Lindum as a centre and we are keen to ensure all the hard work in securing the new facility that the opening event is a real showcase of all activities that take place at the centre.
