The Mens 1s beat Huddersfield a massive 7-0 away while the Mens 2s beat a travelling Leeds Adel Carnegie team at the Lindum. Meanwhile the Mens’ 3rd team drew against Thirk last weekend in their Yorkshire Hockey Development Division play-off.
Ladies 1st Team
The Ladies 1s went into the season with their sites set on returning to the Premier Division of the East League. It didn’t happen but despite a drop-off in results post-Christmas they still managed to finish a healthy third place in the table.

Ladies 2nd Team
The Ladies 2s moved up into the East Womens’ Hockey League from the (now defunct) Lincolnshire Hockey League. The team were in no doubt that it would be a huge step up for them but despite the difference they kept pushing for the entire season.

Mens 1st Team
The Mens 1s left it right up until the last possible moment before it was confirmed but managed to finish the season in a promotional spot! With 16 wins from 21 (full) games played it’s easy to see from the 1st team’s form guide that winning was the norm this year, Next year they will play in Yorkshire’s Division 1.

Mens 2nd Team
This team were effectively promoted at the start of this season with a reorganisation of the league. Whether this contributed to the most erratic form guide of all of the club’s teams this year (though the guides themselves aren’t all that scientific as they don’t take into account different standards of opposition) or whether they were simply ‘finding their feet’, the team will look to answer in 2014 / 2015.

Mens 3rd Team
What to say about the most successful team in the club this year? The stats speak for themselves; a 100% win rate in their division, no draws, no losses and a form guide that ‘flat lines’ in the most positive way possible! Considering that there were questions being asked at the start of the season over whether the youngsters coming up from the club’s Junior Hockey Development would be able to compete every week and not come away from every game with a demoralising loss, nobody could have expected such a dominant performance.
The results of the Mens 3rd team shows that the future of Lincoln Hockey Club is looking positive!

These stats don’t included the play-off against the North Division winners because the Yorkshire Hockey League hasn’t included them in the divisional results.

2013 / 2014 A Year to Remember
The biggest news for the club this year, off the pitch … well sort of, was the completion of a lot of years of hard work from the Lindum Sports Association (and our own Tony Perrin) in the form of the new pitch being laid down at the Lindum. Training moved there in December and we started playing our league games on the new turf in the January. We’re very much looking forward to the Official Opening of the pitch next week.
Also in the news this year, in January Claire Mackinder, the Ladies 1st team coach, began development training for new players and those returning to the sport; something that culminated in a game against Brigg last week. We were celebrating back in November when Club President Tony Perrin and Veterans Player Steve Seymour won awards of recognition at the Lincolnshire Sports Awards.
With the new pitch at the Lindum and big plans in the pipeline for next season, the club looks forward to the 2014 / 2015 season with a huge amount of optimism.
