The funding from Sportivate will benefit 25 different projects across Lincolnshire, in an attempt to get more women and girls into sport, and keep them involved. Full details can be found on the Lincolnite.

Lincoln Roses is one of these projects, and will provide hockey sessions for females for 6 weeks on Monday evenings from 14th July at the Lindum Sports Association. The sessions will take place with an emphasis on fun, fitness and friendship following England Hockey's Back to Hockey programme which has been a huge success.

Due to the demand from females wanting to carry on playing after experiencing the Back to Hockey sessions the club formed a ladies 3rd team in the 2011/12 season, which led to them being "Women's team of the season" at the 2013 England Hockey Awards. The interest has now grown so much that for the 2014/15 season will will be entering a ladies 4th team into the Yorkshire hockey league.
