News on Barry Barr [updated]
The club send him our very best wishes for a speedy recovery. Barry has been a stalwart of the hockey club for over 45 years, having had many past rolls of office and umpiring duties during those years for both the Club and the County.
Update from Philip Ingall, August the 29th
Visited Barry Barr in Greetwell Ward at Lincoln County Hospital yesterday and he was in good heart. It was just a week since he had part of his bowel removed and he was sitting up in bed, taking a lot of notice and looking, surprisingly, very well. His one regret for someone who generally likes his food is that has lost his appetite at the moment but certainly has not lost his sense of humour.
I stayed for about an hour and we talked over a good many things including hockey and his regret is that he cannot be at the Club Championships at the weekend. He would like to thank everyone who has sent him their best wishes and hopes to be out of hospital by the end of next week.
