Junior Hockey in Lincoln

After a wonderful start to our first season as Lindum HC, the junior section continues to grow from strength to strength. In order to make sure all of the junior members and their families receive the best experience, we are going to make some changes to how junior sessions run and the roles and responsibilities of the adults (including parents). These changes will take place over the coming months and we will communicate any changes with you as soon as possible. If you haven’t done so already, please can you contact the website to ensure you receive the club newsletter.

Saturday morning training

Registration/payment

In order to ensure that we follow the best possible safeguarding practice, children and parents need to enter the pitch via the gate nearest the clubhouse and not the gate near the container. Each child must be signed in before they enter the pitch. Registration will be open at 8.45am and coaching will begin at 9.00am.

Groupings

Children who attend Saturday morning training will now be split into age groups as we fall into line with England hockey expectations:

Under 6 Reception/Y1
Under 8 Y2/Y3
Under 10 Y4/Y5
Under 12 Y6/Y7

We will organise the children into their new groups on Saturday morning. Children will remain in their groups until they move into the next age group. Coaches will cater for all of the abilities within each age group. Junior members who are in Y8 or above should attend academy training on Wednesday evenings unless they are new to hockey.

Over the next few weeks, each age group will be allocated a Lead coach, coaches and we hope that parents will take the role of parent volunteers with each age group.

Junior committee

As a new club, we need to ensure that we have a junior committee that helps develop and manage the junior side of the club. We really do need as many volunteers as possible to make this a reality and ensure that we can continue to enhance the quality of experience the children receive. If you are interested, please message me at [email protected] This is new committee and we need as many volunteers as possible. We are not asking for lots of time and the intention is to hold any meetings around junior training times.
