Photos: Georgie Twigg at Lindum HC
Posted by Thomas Holm-Johansen

Georgie Twigg, Olympic Gold Medallist at Rio this summer, returned “home” to Lindum Hockey Club last weekend.
Georgie started playing hockey under the stewardship of Tony Perrin at the club, and has gone on to become a Gold Medallist at the 2016 Olympics when Team GB beat The Netherlands in the final in August. Georgie was reunited with TP on the astro-turf and went round to meet all of the Junior Hockey Players during their Saturday morning training session. She posed for photographs, answered questions and let people see her gold medal.
Later on, Georgie donated a shirt to the club that was played in during the Olympics and that has also been signed by all of the Team GB squad members.
The club is immensely proud of Georgie and so grateful to her for spending her time to come down to Junior Training and inspire the next generation of young hockey players. Despite the rain, it was a fantastic experience for everyone.
The Lincolnshire Echo have a full report on the day on their website.
