Mens 1st Team are North Hockey 1 Champions

The Mens 1st Team have, this afternoon, secured the top spot of the North Hockey Mens 1 league
In their away game to Neston South Wirral today, the Mens 1st Team won 7-1 and the points difference gives them an unassailable lead at the top of North Hockey’s Division 1 table. This sees the team’s promotional goals achieved and now places the club in the highest league placing it’s played in since we formed in 2015.
Robert Johnson opened the scoring for Lindum Hockey 1s against South Wirral, before a Mike White deflection also found the back of the net. The home side scored one of their own but Matt Bell and then (defender) Matt Ingram brought the scoreline to 4-1 at half time.
Into the second half Matt Bell scored another and then Mike White added two to complete his hat-trick.
This season’s efforts will see the team promoted to the North Premier Division, one below National League, for the 2018 / 2019 season.
Celebrations will be tempered by the fact that the team play again tomorrow when they take on Bacchanalians Hockey Club, away on the Isle of Man in the Quarter Finals of the Tier 2 England Hockey Cup Championships.
