Super Sunday full of treats for Lindum Juniors
Monday, 31st of October 2022

Sunday 30th October saw players from U6 to U16 in action across the Lindum Sports Association and down the A46 at Nottingham Hockey Centre.
First up were the Under 8s, joined by our friends from Brigg for the first of hopefully many joint festival and games sessions. Supported brilliantly by Beth, Kiera, Paige and Ruby the session was a combination of challenges and gameplay which saw the children play alongside their new favourite hockey players brilliantly, and run way past the finish time of 11am as they just didn’t want to stop!
Soon after the U10 & U12 players started arriving for their 11am start. Again, with a mix of players from Lindum and Brigg we had 6 teams and a tournament on the go!
A big thank you to Ruby, Beth, Paige, Holly, Jack, James, Ollie, Oscar, Lewis, Reuben and our 2 excellent Junior Captains Luke and Kiera for organising their peers brilliantly and being fantastic role models to the next wave of junior players.
The next Junior festival will take place on Sunday 20th November.
Lindum U16 Girls 14 – 1 Doncaster
Following a Bye in Round 1 of the cup, the girls got a home draw against Yorkshire and NE neighbours Doncaster HC. With half term coming to an end and selection proving its usual pickle we managed to field a team with some subs which was a treat! A massive shout out for Tom Saunders who has this year been working with this group on Wednesday nights and today was on the side lines for a stunning 14-1 win. Next week sees the 2 teams meet again, in Doncaster in the Yorkshire league.
Goals from:
Lydia Neesham 5
Paige Harrison 3
Imogen Trotter 3
Louisa Muir 1
Esme Mason 1
Beth Church 1
Lindum U14 Boys 5 – 2 Sheffield Hallam
Next up at the LSA were the U14 boys. After a 1-0 win away to Beeston in round 1 of the cup, round 2 saw the boys come home for a fixture vs Sheffield. After going 2-0 down in the opening stages, a come back was needed and a come back was what we got. Goals from Theo FT, James Ives, Aran Bird and a brace for Harper Kimbrell saw the boys over the line with a final score of 5-2 and into round 3! A big thank you to the Stevensons for supporting the boys and providing some great photos and score updates.
Next week sees the boys away to Chesterfield in Yorkshire NE action.
Goals from:
Kimbrell 2
Fytche-Taylor 1
Ives 1
Bird 1
Lindum U16 Boys 2 – 1 Beeston ‘B’
On the road, the U16 boys were ready to challenge Beeston Boys U16 B. After an impressive home win vs Hull earlier in the month, the confident boys secured a 2-1 win, with the winner coming close to the end of play, with Max Chapman adding to his earlier goal to secure the win and a place in round 3. Thanks to Stu Mellor and John Sisman for looking after the boys.
Next week sees the boys return to the LSA to face Rotherham in the Yorkshire & NE league.
