Mens 1st Team Coach Mens 1st Team Coach

Lindum Hockey Club are seeking a Coach for our newly promoted Men’s 1st XI

Lindum Hockey Club is based at the Lindum Sports Association in the city of Lincoln. The club is made up of six Men’s teams and five Ladies’ teams. Lindum Hockey Club takes pride in the family orientated club environment and would welcome expressions of interest from coaches of all backgrounds.

The primary role that is being advertised by Lindum Hockey Club is to coach for the Mens’ 1st XI in National League Division 1 North. The Men’s 1st XI are on the run of back to back promotions that have seen them go from Regional Premier to National League Division 1 North, becoming the first Lincolnshire side to reach the National League. There is a vast array of experience in the squad and, as a group, we are looking for an individual to come in and continue our development and growth through the National League, as well as helping to promote our junior players into the 1st Team and develop the future of the club.

The primary target for the team is to compete and stay in the league, in order to progress the club further. Therefore, the successful candidate must demonstrate a good understanding of coaching at this level. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced coach to support and shape the future of an ever-changing hockey team on their latest venture, whilst also being able to continue their own personal coaching development. The role would require an individual with strong interpersonal skills that will be able to help continue retention of players, as well as potential recruitment.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Lead coach for the Men’s 1st XI
  • Attend Men’s 1st XI games weekly
  • Work closely with the management group to plan and deliver sessions on Tuesday evenings
  • Work closely with the management group and club for selection decisions
  • Work closely with Men’s 2nd XI to help push their promotion aspirations and promote potential players from M2 to M1
  • Running/leading potential video analysis sessions (alongside the management group)

Additional opportunities that could be discussed if interested:

  • Plan/deliver sessions for M3/M4
  • Support in planning of sessions for M2
  • Involvement in wider club selection (dependent on involvement in coaching of other sessions)
  • Possible opportunities to support the coaching of junior sessions on separate evenings (subject to discussion)

If you are interested in the role, please send your interest outlining the experiences and skills you have to Men’s 1st XI captain, Rob Johnstone.
