Coronavirus Update
Lindum Hockey Club is monitoring the Coronavirus / Covid-19 situation and will continue to keep club members and supporters updated
Following a change to the government’s advice and approach to coronavirus, announced earlier today, Lindum Hockey Club is following the advice provided by the relevant hockey leagues and England Hockey. England Hockey, in turn, are taking advice from Sport England who look to the daily updates being provided by the government.
At Lindum Hockey Club we are following the advice and guidance from England Hockey and Public Health England. The advice is that community hockey will continue to take place. This means that, unless the facilities that we use are forced to close, all fixtures and training sessions that are planned to take place will do so unless the situation changes.

Players and officials are expected to be sensible regarding their own safety and equipment, and be mindful of the fact that cross-contamination can occur on playing equipment such as face masks (which is the case regardless of the current outlook). The advice for older players, from England Hockey, is;
We also recommend our more elderly players and officials consider whether they should take part in hockey activity.

In the interests of everyone’s safety the club will not be taking part in the regular post-game handshakes but will be sticking to the three cheers in respect of opposition teams.
