Committee Positions for 2021-22
As we look forward to playing hockey again, during what would be the closing weeks of the 2020-21 league hockey season, we’re now looking ahead to the 2021-22 hockey year
Last week we reported on the plans being formed for our return to hockey, following the easing out of Lockdown #3. With none of the usual league hockey taking place we now have the opportunity to look ahead and plan for the next hockey season. This year has been very tough on the club, as it has been on all hockey clubs and all other amateur sports clubs across the country, and the focus is very much on bouncing back and rebuilding for next year.
Further to the impact that Covid-19 has had, the country’s hockey league structure is changing next year and we’re also hoping to see the realisation of a large project, with significant (though very exciting) ramifications for the club which will have a huge impact on our future. In order to do all this, the club needs the support of its membership to get us back – and beyond – where we were.
Committee Roles
The club is therefore opening nominations for Committee Positions, for next year, earlier than usual this season. Please consider the positions available and see if you’re able to offer anything towards the running of Lindum Hockey Club. A position doesn’t need to be the responsibility of a single person; the idea behind the club’s structure is that these roles are team-leads that can oversee a group of people to meet the needs of the club. If you can’t volunteer the time to fulfil a Committee role, consider putting a team together and nominating someone to be the figurehead.
If you’re interested in giving some of your time and / or expertise to the running of the club but aren’t sure how to do so, please get in touch to ask for further details (with no obligation to volunteer).
Ultimately without these roles being filled the club can’t function and can’t grow.
Nominations
The closing date for nominations will be detailed in the announcement for this year’s Annual General Meeting. Role descriptions and responsibilities can be found here.
Nominations have now closed.
Annual General Meeting
While the Annual General Meeting (AGM) happens in May, and is still planned for May this year, we don’t know at the moment what form it will take. Last year’s AGM took place virtually, which could still be the case this year.
